Sinéad Rice was born in Ireland in 1975. Her work deals with the concepts of order and impermanence. She is visually inspired by natural history collections, museum display and other forms of documentation including colour charts. She also subscribes to the the Asian concept of "Yugen" a word used to describe the invisible, deep and mysterious beauty which natural objects acquire with the passage of time. This is the beauty of the natural, the weathered, the still, the simple.
